Board of Pardons 333 Market St., 15th Floor Harriburg, PA 17126—03333 717-787-2596 Dear Sir/Madam Re: Robert Wideman — Computations. I first met Robby (as we know him) when we were both children at the age of 8 or 9 years old. It was a magic time for us as we talked of dreams and aspirations as two innocent kids would do. Eventually, we went our separate ways, but would meet again in the Western Penn in the Mid 70’s. I would continue going in and out for the next twenty years, and every time I would return, there would be Robby to greet me, offer his support and eventually convince me to continue my education in academics and vocational areas. We found 12 Step Recovery while incarcarated and what impressed me was Robby’s ability to seek change — spiritually and emotionally, and along the way touch and encourage others by sharing, honestly, his experience, Strength and hopes. In 1995, I was invited by the Drug & Alcohol Supervisor Rich Nellis to initiate on going recovery at the Western Penn and in 2001 was honored by the D.O.C. as Volunteer of the Year. To say the least, a very humbling experience. But even more so is Robby’s ability to continue to over the years & maintain an attitude of conviction, compassion and resolve. I would have no doubt that Robby’s success and aspiration as a father, son, husband, spiritual leader, teacher, advisor in technical or adminis- trative areas would only enhance the world as we know it. If prisons are an avenue of rehabilitation, then Robert Wideman is a perfect example of what the realities of God, Narcotics Anonymous and Love can accomplish. It would serve NO ONE any positive purpose to continue Mr. Wideman's incarceration. I pray the Board grants this opportunity. Most Sincerely, James M.
